These Small Potatoes Are A Big Deal

Tonight—Saturday, February 11th—the extra special Chicago-based folk duo of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso will be performing at the Falling Rock Café and Bookstore. They call themselves Small Potatoes, but despite their humble name, they are a pretty big deal! We are honored and delighted to have them at the cafe!

Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso say it has taken them years of careful indecision to develop a repertoire they describe as “Celtic to Cowboy.” They’ve been touring on the folk circuit since 1993 and have since become sought-after regulars at many clubs, coffeehouses across the U.S.

Superb musicianship and showmanship, award-winning songwriting, and a strong sense of tradition has made them, as Dirty Linen Magazine once said, “one of the most polished, inventive, and entertaining shows on the circuit.” Don’t miss this rare appearance at Falling Rock!

If you can’t make it to Saturday night’s live music at the café, Small Potatoes is also performing Sunday morning, Feb 12 at a long standing series in the U.P. near Crystal Falls called the Second Sunday Folk Dance, one of the Midwest’s most popular venues for folk music and dance and is the largest, longest running event of its kind. The event is organized and hosted by Dean and Bette Premo of White Water Family Band and owners of White Water Associates (an environmental consulting company). Dean and Bette and their children have all performed at the Falling Rock as a family and in other combinations over the years. They are a wonderful family band, and their children (now adults) continue to perform all over the world!
