Live Music This Month at Falling Rock
Derrell Syria
Friday, September 4, 7:00 p.m.
Singer/songwriter Derrell Syria has a vocal range that spans traditional Scandinavian/Reggae melodies and Gospel-inspired modulation. He sings his songs in the form of reggae, blues, rock and funk, blending the melodies and rhythms with traditional Finnish musical themes. Derrell is a favorite, not only in Munising and Marquette, but throughout the U.P. and far and wide beyond as well! He is fun and talented and always gives us a good show! Joining Derrell will be Cliff Porter and Ethan Syria.
J Birds - Saturday, September 5, 7:00 p.m.
Ross Allured and Jay Krueger of the Jaybirds have been making music together for years now. Over that time, they have played many different styles ranging from bluegrass, folk and blues to classic rock and alternative. Ross plays bass, drums and sings simultaneously giving the Jaybirds a much bigger sound than expected from a duo. Their friendship, musicianship and harmonies make for a fun evening of live music!
Mike Lepovsky - Saturday, September 12, 7:00 p.m.
Otherwise known as Virgil Longwalk, Mike made his debut at Falling Rock last year. He was such a hit, we asked him back right away! He soothes and relaxes the crowd with his original lyrics and beautiful guitar. You may have seen him shoveling snow around town; many of the locals rely on him to keep their paths cleared . . Now stop in to hear his other talents on guitar and vocals.
Chris Valenti - Saturday, September 19, 7:00 p.m.
Chris is one of Falling Rock’s regular performers and is such a favorite, he’s practically part of the live music family! He plays favorite classic rock songs, filling up the room with his beautiful voice, guitar, and harmonica!
Mixed Image Band - Saturday, September 26, 7:00 p.m.
Hailing from Manistique, these guys play classic rock and country from the 50’s and 60’s. The band consists of Mike Swanson on drums, Tom Lucas on lead guitar and vocals, Jere- my Coninn on keyboard and saxophone, Dave Winters on bass guitar and vocals, and John Gores on rhythm guitar and vocals. They play all over the local area but this is their first time here so give them a warm welcome!
Open Jam Sessions
Open Acoustic Jam and Game Night Mondays 7:00-9:00 p.m. (Will change to 6:00-8:00 p.m. on September 14th) All types of music welcome!
Old Time Music Jam and Game Night Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 p.m.
